Dinner at Number One is indeed a wonderful dining experience. One for ‘the foodies’ of that there is no doubt. Although part of The Balmoral Hotel the restaurant has created a reputation in its own right for fine dining.

Executive Chef Jeff Bland has now retired but his culinary skills have been replaced by Andy Robinson who was ‘plucked’ from another operation. Initial reports have been most encouraging and hopefully the Michelin Star will be retained.

The restaurant continues its ethos of modern or traditional dishes good combinations showing flair and imagination. High technical skills with some innovation, good texture and taste. There can be no doubt that diners’ expectations are fully realised - also a fine wine list available for the connoisseur.

Ambience perfect with fine furnishings and white linen - sound advice and service impeccable. Michelin Star.
