A very warm welcome to

STEVENSONS 2017 - the 22nd edition of Scotland’s Good Hotel & Food Book.

Feedback has been extremely positive and hotels & restaurants have experienced another good year. Although there has been an improvement, Aberdeenshire still ‘lags’ behind due to the demise of the oil industry. After ‘Brexit’ the pound fell quite a bit hence an advantage to our visitors from abroad. Also, bookings from the domestic market were encouraging.

My personal selection once again includes properties that maintain the highest standards of hotelkeeping and restaurants that provide a gastronomic delight. Over the past 30 years I have visited and stayed in all parts of Scotland – and am very fortunate to savour what I can only describe as one of the most scenic countries in the world for which I never tire (despite the weather sometimes!).

Grateful to Eric Brown at Roman Camp Country House for the Main Foreword and Craig Wilson of ‘Eat on the Green’ for the Food Foreword. Their contribution to the industry over the years has been immense.

Once again I look forward with anticipation to my travels next year when I will compile the 23rd edition of the book for year 2018.
