This is a magnificent country house designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens just 17 miles from Edinburgh. A member of the prestigious Relais & Chateaux, it overlooks the famous open championship golf course. The gardens alone are worth a visit.

Operated by Inverlochy Castle Management International, Greywalls has become one of the premier hotels in Scotland which will rival any other - the food operation under the direction of the renowned Albert Roux OBE, KFO who is head of the famous cooking dynasty behind such establishments as Le Gavroche which was the first ever restaurant in the UK to be awarded three Michelin Stars is a culinary paradise. French influence obvious and the choice of pike quenelle a pure delight.

When I stayed here the bedrooms offered every comfort – spacious and well furnished with excellent en suite facilities. Service and attention to detail could not be faulted.

An option here is the Colonel’s house which sleeps 8 and offers more privacy.

Plenty to do and see in East Lothian including golf!

Your host and General Manager: Duncan Fraser. Highly recommended.
