Contrary to previous reports The Marcliffe Hotel in Aberdeen remains open for business. Skirling House near Biggar will close at the end of 2015 – owners Bob and Isobel Hunter retiring. We wish them well. Glenapp Castle (McMillan Hotels) at Ballantrae has been sold. The owners of Glencoe House have now acquired Islay House on the island of Islay. Fasque House (re-branded Fasque Castle) near Fettercairn is an addition to the Inverlochy Castle Management International portfolio. Due to severe fire damage Darroch Learg Hotel in Ballater will be closed until Easter 2016. The Kingsmills in Inverness have recently opened 13 new garden lodges. Isle of Eriska Hotel has had a major overhaul of their leisure facilities.

Paul Burns has been appointed head chef at Fonab Castle, Pitlochry. Previously at Airds Hotel in Appin for 12 years. Paul Whitecross appointed head chef at MacLeod House Restaurant (Trump International) at Balmedie, Aberdeenshire. Scott Davies appointed head chef at The Three Chimneys on Skye (June 2015). Andrew Seal appointed General Manager at Ballathie House Hotel. Phillip Fleming, General Manager at Tor-Na-Coille, has left and is replaced by Morag Macindoe (previously of Norwood Hall & Monument Leisure Ltd). David Robertson appointed General Manager at The Roxburghe near Kelso (part of ICMI). Michelin Star for 2016 awarded to The Cellar Restaurant, Anstruther, Fife.
